crustaceans research

The response of commercially exploited crustaceans to protection in Scotland’s first No Take Zone – Lamlash Bay, Isle of Arran., Dubois P.

‘Spillovers’ of European lobsters, velvet crabs and brown crabs from the Lamlash Bay NTZ to surrounding areas was surveyed using creels and tags. Catches of European lobsters and brown crabs, both generally and above minimum fished size, were higher in the NTZ, but not significant. This establishes a baseline dataset.
