The best way to learn about sea life is to find out where it lives, how it behaves, interacts, and – if possible – observe it in natural conditions or as close to these as possible.
This is why we always enjoy our classic shore scrambles, where participants learn how to get their eye in and find creatures where they never expected to! We can adapt these sessions depending on the age and interests of the group.
At the Discovery Centre, we have opted for a catch and release marine tank so those unable to get to one of our shore scrambles can still discover what lives in our seas. We do regular marine tank feeding sessions where you can observe our volunteers feed the animals, whilst learning more about Arran’s marine life from an expert.
