Health & Safety

Although it is no longer a legal requirement in Scotland to wear a face covering in indoor public areas, we would like to take this opportunity to kindly request that our visitors continue to do so, if possible.
Why are we recommending this? Anyone who has visited before will know that our Discovery Centre is a cosy space and therefore we ask this to ensure the safety and comfort of our visitors, volunteers and staff.

Wheelchair access:
Through the roadside gate (next to the Coastguard entrance), a ramp to the Centre and fully accessible public toilet facility.

For groups and special needs:
If you are a group of over 8 people or if you have any special needs, get in touch so we can help organise your visit.

We have a marine-themed gift shop and card payments are accepted.
All proceeds support the COAST charity. Card payments are accepted for purchases or donations. No minimum charge.

Free high speed broadband WiFi
This is present throughout our site, inside and outside, with the password available from reception.

Tennis courts:
The tennis courts are always open, please use the honesty box when the centre is closed. More information here.

Putting:
Putting is generally open only when the Discovery Centre is. Please use the honesty box for payments.

Refreshments:
Tea, coffee, and Arran Dairies ice cream are available in our inside and outside seating areas.

Fill your water bottle!
Ask us to refill your water bottle. COAST is part of the “Arran fills bottles” initiative, by Arran Ecosavvy.

Paid group activities:
We can offer half days or full days of activities for groups if you book in advance. Please contact us for details and prices and to discuss your needs further.
