COAST Response To Kelp Harvesting Scoping Report August 2018
A proposed plan to mechanically dredge kelp in Scotland would destroy a unique habitat, says seaweed expert Professor Juliet Brodie.
Campaigners including COAST managed to gather enough MSP support for an amendment to the Crown Estates Bill to pass which prevents mechanical kelp dredging for the moment but kelp harvesting is subject to a governmental review. The latest information can be read here.
