The Isle of Arran has a very active community. COAST works in partnership and is supported by many local organisations, groups and businesses.
We have a joint programme of events with the National Trust of Scotland Rangers and do weekly talks and shore scrambles for schools visiting the Arran Outdoor Education Centre as well as occasional events or projects with Ecosavvy, the Arran Access Trust’s Coastal Way project, the Arran Natural History Society, the Arran Arts and Theatre Trust and the Arran Community Land Initiative.
The Umbrella group and more than 30 local artists, many from Arran Open Studios have donated their artwork and crafts to support our work.
Arran’s businesses are right behind our Marine Protected Area and have supported the campaign since 2014. The Arran Trust regularly supports our work and many businesses have our donation boxes or have organised fundraisers for our charity.
We are partners of Visit Arran and at the Octopus Centre we inform residents and visitors about local groups and businesses that encourage coastal & marine activities or sustainability at our Marine Information Point.
