Explore these 10 locations and follow our clues on your Arran island adventure…

1) Lamlash-

I am a crustacean that can live as long as 50 years! I can be blue or green and I have very strong claws for breaking open shells.

You can find me near the beach at a restaurant with blue benches in Lamlash Bay.

2) Whiting Bay-

I am a spiny sea creature and a cousin of the star fish. I Make a tasty snack for Otters.

Look for me where you can get food and drink with a view of Whiting Bay

3) Kildonan-

I am very shy and not really a sea creature! I am a mammal with thick fur and like to wash the sea salt out of it after I hunt for fish and sea urchins.

I am hiding among the tents near Kildonan Point.

4) Lagg-

I am a rarer visitor to Arran and one of its biggest mammals. I am an excellent diver and you might catch a glimpse of me when I come up to breathe.

You should look for me where they make whisky in Lagg.

5) Blackwaterfoot-

I am a crustacean, you can find me in rockpools on beaches around the island, but be gentle or I could pinch you!

I’m hiding at a very big building near the slipway in Blackwaterfoot

6) Machrie-

I am a curious animal and can hold my breath for as long as 30 minutes! I like to haul out an rocks and sunbathe, when I am happy I do the ‘Banana Pose’.

You can find me where you can get a cup of tea and slice of cake in Machrie.

7) Pirnmill-

I am an elegant sea mammal with a very big brain. You might see me playing alongside boats, I am very social and live in pods with friends and family.

Look for me at a local restaurant named after a tall building that warns ships of danger.

8) Lochranza-

I am a very clever animal and a master of disguise. I have 3 hearts and if you upset me I will cover you in ink!

I am hiding in plain sight where you can get a delicious lunch from a tiny building.

9) Corrie-

We are the kings and queens of the seabed! I am a bivalve and taste my best when caught by hand divers.

You should look for me at a restaurant where I am on the menu along with other locally sourced seafood.

10) Brodick

I am 95% water and would make a terrible dessert, despite my name. Some of us are good at directions and some of us would be good at storing whisky.

Find me in Brodick where adults can get a tropical drink right on the beach.

When you’ve completed the trail, fill out a worksheet at our Discovery Centre in Lamlash and drop by to show us your photos in exchange for a wee prize.
