Funding Officer
John has worked in service development and business change roles across further education and the public sector more broadly, but over the last 25 years he has focused his professional efforts on governance, policy, performance management and income generation across the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sectors – in fulfilment of freelance roles and, over the last 5 years, in senior charity leadership. He enjoys social and natural history, football, rugby league and the outdoors, and to COAST he brings a love for Arran now spanning two decades plus and a keen commitment to securing the grants, contracts, public and corporate support needed to further the organisation’s mission to protect and enhance the marine environment around this beautiful island. At the same time, he looks forward to embracing all the wonderful learning opportunities that trustees, colleagues, community advisory panel members and partners will provide on his journey with our organisation, acknowledging that they will help enrich and make cases for monetary support as compelling as can be.
