COAST’s mission is to protect and restore a diverse, abundant and beautiful marine environment for everyone in Arran, the Clyde and Scotland. We rely on funding and donations.
COAST is an OSCR registered charity in Scotland and all information on our accounts is available on the Companies House website. COAST has an excellent record of delivering our projects on time and to budget, and we have been fortunate to have been trusted over the years by funders such as Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, John Ellerman Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation and the European Community Argyll and the Islands LEADER 2014-2020 Programme, along with others.
The Scottish Government LEADER fund was vital in creating Arran’s Community Marine Hub which acts as the activity base for COAST and the MPA head quarters called The COAST Discovery Centre. This grant allowed for the expansion of the now Discovery Centre as a marine community tourism info-point and to improve the carbon footprint of the building by installing solar panels and heat pump system. This grant also supplied fund to develop the buidling as a Discovery Centre.
Without our funders’ help and donations, our work would not be possible.
