A group of Eider ducks ashore at Brodick was sighted by Colin Cowley in May. He explains “the male birds are attracted to the single female”. This is very common among animal species and can occasionally lead to fights between the males. They are also known as the ‘sarcastic’ duck or Frankie Howard duck because of their call
