Demands for tighter controls to protect Scotland’s precious coastal waters

On Sunday 20th September 2020, The Herald Scotland published an article written by Sandra Dick titled: “Demands for tighter controls to protect Scotland’s precious coastal waters“.

The article was inspired by the release of COAST’s Autumn News, which focused on loss of biodiversity and habitat destruction in the marine environment, and the in-action by the Scottish Government to do anything to protect the seas. COAST, Open Seas and the Our Seas coalition feature in the piece, highlighting that “bringing back protections for our coastal seabed would generate jobs and boost the resilience of Scotland’s marine environment and economy…. we cannot afford to sit on our hands during a biodiversity crisis.”
