This week we welcomed pupils from Dreghorn Primary to the centre.
They enjoyed a talk from Jenny about COAST, they watched videos on the screen, and they loved the creatures in the marine tank which Jenny taught them all about. Their favourite was the Mermaid’s Purse – a real live shark egg!
We collaborate with the local Arran Outdoor Education Centre to provide a location for them to bring visiting groups. The majority of these groups are Primary 7 school pupils from north Ayrshire, who are working towards their John Muir Conservation Awards. We help contribute to their achievement of these awards, by bringing in marine conservation and teaching how they can make a difference.
