Marine Harvest aims to expand two salmon farms in Carradale and build a new one that will be 1.5 times bigger than the permitted maximum, between Arran and the Kintyre peninsula.
This is senseless when SEPA’s CEO has said that large farms might be permitted, but only in exposed and high tidal flow areas, which can dilute the pollution. Government must promote investment in closed-containment systems on land which are already giving good results.
