Lochhead fails over commitment to Clyde communities

A year ago Richard Lochhead (Scotland’s Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment) agreed Marine Scotland would collate and review the scientific evidence from around the world on marine areas closed to fishing methods that trawl the seabed and their potential to regenerate a healthier mixed fishery with benefits for all marine stakeholders. Since this commitment, given at a meeting in the Scottish Parliament, arranged by Kenneth Gibson MSP, to COAST and the Clyde creeling associations we have heard nothing substantive from Richard Lochhead despite requests via our MSP.
