Andrew joined COAST in 2011 and has extensive experience working with coastal communities in Scotland, Papua New Guinea and Madagascar supporting marine and coastal resource management initiatives.
Manuela de los Rios
Manuela is a marine communications and environmental education specialist, she has worked on integrated coastal zone management and local sustainable development initiatives for coastal communities across Europe, the Balkans and North Africa.
Marine Outreach Officer
Jenny started with COAST conducting research for her MSc in Marine Environmental Management. An accomplished diver with a love of all things wet and wild, she hopes to pass on her enthusiasm of marine conservation to people of all ages.
Russell operates Ocean Breeze Rib Tours with his wife Elspeth. They have lived on Arran since 1994 and are keen wildlife observers and beach cleaners.
Sibbie is a keen sailor and cyclist. She formerly worked in adult education and has been COAST’s Treasurer for many years.
Originally from Bute, Jenni worked for Edinburgh City Council before retiring to Arran. Jenni has a wealth of HR and organisation development experience.
Tom is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of the West of England, specialising in environmental law. He is a trustee of Blue Marine Foundation and helped COAST establish the public's right to fish and the Lamlash Bay NTZ.
Simon is head of the European Antitrust and Competition Group with Skadden LLP, Brussels. He has extensive experience of antitrust regimes as well as advising on regulatory and other EU compliance issues.
Dr Robin Jenks
A marine campaigner and former science teacher, Robin lives on the west of Arran and has a doctorate in fresh water biology.
Zabdi runs Flying Fever, a paragliding school, with her partner Maurice. She is our web designer and technical back-up and works closely with COAST on our campaigns.
Originally from Glasgow, John was a corporate tax expert at the Inland Revenue and a Children's Panel member before moving to Arran and joining COAST as a marine volunteer.
Jo is a volunteer ranger with National Trust Scotland and marine campaigner. She helps organise Arran’s Mountain Festival.
Ann works for Visit Scotland in Brodick and is a jeweller. She is a former primary school teacher. She wrote and compiled COAST’s Marine Education Resource Pack with Jo Totty.
Cicely has lived on Arran since the 60s and has just published her first novel. She is the prime mover behind our extremely popular annual marine crafts workshop.
Born on Arran and former fisherman and retired joiner, Jim is a local historian who remembers Arran’s once famous fish festivals well.
Dave is a photographer and fireman. He is married with two teenagers and is currently building his own house with help from the family.
Claire has a BSc Hons in Marine Zoology from Bangor University. She is a experienced Seasearch diver and assists COAST conduct research around Arran.
Angus Robson is an experienced and qualified survey boat coxswain and volunteer diver. He has 25 years' of experience diving in the seas of nine different countries.
