Scottish Parliament’s Environment Committee Visits Arran

The Environment Committee of the Scottish Parliament visits the Isle of Arran on the 31 August 2006 on a fact finding trip.

COAST’s Petition was referred to the Environment Committee by the Petitions Committee after there were severe concerns about the way that ERAD officials were dealing with the COAST proposals. It is hoped that COAST will give a short presentation to the Committee about the project, followed by a visit to Lamlash Bay.

COAST welcomes the opportunity to be able to discuss their project with all the members of the Committee while they are on the island and applauded this example of democracy in action, where the local community’s voice can be heard by those at the centre of decision making.
